today, i like miley cyrus. why? she is engaged at 19. sweet. once my mom sees that she won't be able to hold my age against me anymore!

    I was engaged at 17 and married at 18...Your mother, my then young woman's leader, was NOT a fan! But the past 6.5 years have been AMAZING!!! And Sister Baird said something really sweet to me when I was struggling from the pressures of others...She said "If you get married earlier you make it to 50 years together with a lot more youth and enjoyment"!

    oh my goodness, i apologize if my mom ever made you feel bad! haha if it helps, i TOTALLY understand now;) how did your mom feel about you being engaged at 17?! i totally agree with you. ive learned lately that all that matters is doing what makes you happy and the rest follows!

    Don't get me wrong, your mother was AWESOME!! She I think just saw things SO different. I honestly think she was concerned about me. Neither of my parents took my engagement well. I had Chris ask for my dads permission before he proposed...my dad said no at first, but over time came around. To this day Chris says that was one of the worst hardest things he ever had to do. I won't deny that marriage is HARD! The hardest thing I have ever had to do(but age doesn't change that), and I NEVER for a second would change how we did it. I feel in ways because everyone doubted us, we were able to hold onto each other and rely on each other. We had a year long engagement (not something I would recommend)but it caused us to hold onto each other. I look at it now and think "WOW WE WERE CRAZY", and I would do it all over in a heart beat!

    I'm totally here for you if you ever need someone to talk to. I'm still so young and really there is so much I have to learn! But if you really love each other, NOTHING will come in your way!
